What CarSocial currently uses, what it shows, and the controls available to you.
Account features use your sign-in email and authentication identifiers. You may provide a name, home pincode, derived city/state, and garage details such as make/model/variant, fuel, ownership, purchase/manufacturing dates, price, mileage, condition and offer settings. Uploaded car photos and their rights-confirmation time/version are stored when you choose to upload. Photos are resized and location metadata is removed before upload. Offers store their amount, status, vehicle reference and participant identifiers. Chats store participant and group identifiers, membership, text, timestamps, photo metadata and per-recipient view status. Blocks and reports are stored for safety and moderation. This release does not ask for RC numbers, identity documents or card details.
Account and garage information supports sign-in, storing your collection, personalised value/standing estimates, city lookup the offer workflow and member chats. Necessary session storage keeps sign-in working. Request/technical information may be processed by hosting and database services for delivery and security. Google Analytics is available for optional visit and usage measurement. Its tag loads only after you allow analytics in the browser privacy control. We do not add account emails, garage records, offer contents or chat contents to analytics events. Advertising consent is denied by this integration.
Public sale listings show visible cars that are open to offers in a public garage, along with the seller display label and city when provided. Offer records are available to their participants. Setting the garage private removes it from public listings, but does not erase existing participant offer records. Your login email is not included in public listings or the owner chat directory. Direct chat text is available to its participants; group text is available to current joined members, including earlier group history. Owner labels and identifiers are visible in the logged-in owner directory. Authorised admins can view account/garage/offer data, car photos and reported chat text/details, and actions are logged. View-once chat photo bytes are not copied into report evidence or exposed in the admin report panel.
Inbox unread counts update while signed in. If you enable browser alerts, CarSocial stores this device's push endpoint and encryption keys with your account, plus your quiet hours and conversation mutes. Browser providers such as Apple, Google or Mozilla deliver an encrypted generic new-message alert without message text or photos. Disable this device in Inbox before switching accounts on a shared browser. Disabling deletes its subscription and queued work from active storage. Push job records expire after one day; inactive device subscriptions expire after 90 days. Delivery is best-effort and subject to browser permission, network and Home Screen requirements on iPhone/iPad. There are no automatic chat reminder messages or chat emails.
Cloudflare hosts the site and Supabase provides account/database services. If you allow analytics, Google processes analytics information, including page visits, browser/device information, referral information and cookie identifiers, to measure site use. These services may process technical and account information to operate the application. Exact contractual data locations, subprocessors and retention settings require operator verification; this notice does not promise that all data stays in India or a fixed deletion deadline.
Use Profile to edit your name/pincode, make your garage private, review browser storage preferences or log out. Remove garage entries in Garage; withdraw pending offers in Inbox. Logging out is not account deletion. Email admin@themidnight.in for access, correction, erasure, grievance or account-wide consent withdrawal. Use your registered email and describe the request; do not send passwords, identity documents or payment details. Midnight Digital Private Limited must verify the request and handle it manually. No automatic response or deletion deadline is promised.
The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable Rules inform this notice's purpose-specific notice, choice and withdrawal approach. Actual obligations and commencement dates must be checked for the operator. Browser preference controls are not a registered statutory Consent Manager, and this notice is not a compliance certificate. Account-wide cessation, erasure and grievance handling require an implemented process, not just a cookie toggle.
Chat text, membership, blocks, reports, photo-view metadata and admin activity records remain stored until a supported deletion or verified operator process. View-once photo bytes are removed from active storage after the last eligible recipient views them. Access is denied at the 24-hour expiry; timed cleanup removes remaining expired bytes on a one-minute schedule. Browser viewers close at expiry, but screenshots, recipients' copies and infrastructure backups cannot be recalled. Backup retention remains unverified. Garage/account and offer records remain stored until acted on through supported features or a verified operator process. This release has no automatic account-wide retention/deletion schedule. Access controls and participant-only offer access are implemented, but no service can guarantee absolute security. Backup retention and legal exceptions need verification before any specific promise is made.
